Kaitlyn Michael

Lyn “Sissy” Michael was born to Timothy and Gabriela Michael (Hernandez) on January 9, 1999 in Lake Jackson, TX.

An accomplished young woman, Kaitlyn had achieved her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Western Governors University in 2021 and had spent a year teaching 5th grade at Rasco Middle School in Lake Jackson. A lover of the written word, she decided to return to school and obtain her master’s in creative writing from the University of Houston Clear Lake and was fit to graduate in December 2023. A true lover of the arts Lyn spent her free time reading, listening to music, and writing. She loved spending time with her family above all things and would never miss a family function if it could be helped. She was creative, kind, clever, beautiful both inside and out, there was never a bad time in her company. A loving cat mom, Lady and Duchess, were loved and spoiled beyond comparison.

Kaitlyn is survived by her parents, Gabriela (Hernandez) & Jose Cortez; her father, Timothy Michael; her sisters, Violet Michael & Lilliana Cortez; grandparents, Elisa & Gary Rooks; and grandparents, Roberto & Enriqueta Hernandez.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Hernandez, Caleb Hernandez, Dustin Belt, Jose Cortez, Timothy Michael, and Antonio Gonzalez.

A visitation for Kaitlyn will be held on Friday, March 10th, at 11:00 A.M. followed by a funeral service at 1:00 P.M. Burial will take place afterwards at Restwood Memorial Park.
