Shane, or better known as DJ Shane 2 Chains was born in Freeport, Tx. He graduated from Brazosport High school in 1996. He was one of the funniest guys you’ve ever met, and he never knew a stranger. His hugs were one of a kind, and his smile could fill a room. He could make the saddest situations better with his wit and humor.
He met the love of his life Amanda in 1995 She was his best friend. They were married on May 8, 1999 at Varner Hog Plantation in west Columbia Tx. Everyone that knew Shane knew just how much he loved his beautiful wife. They did everything together and wherever they were at they brought the fun with them. Nobody could bring excitement and fun like those two. They welcomed their one and only child their sweet baby girl Makenna on October 12, 1999. His life was changed forever that day. That day he held the most important thing in his life and he was no longer just a man, he was a daddy.
Being a Daddy to his daughter was an important role for Shane. He never took it lightly and he did the best he could to raise his daughter with love and to teach her the things in life that she would need to survive one day without him. She was the light of his life and she always kept him on his toes. He wanted nothing more than for his legacy to live through her, and for her to have an amazing life. She is his pride and joy and above all his baby girl. He will forever be watching over her and he would want her to know that he is proud of her and to live her life knowing that her daddy loved her more than anything in this world.
Being a husband and a father was very important to Shane. He always protected his girls. They were his life!
He is and was an amazing son. His parents loved him, still love him, and will forever love him. He brought them a lot of joy, and laughter. He may have even brought them a little frustration, but that’s what children do. He loved his mom and dad and he tried his best to make them proud and he did! His parents have loved him since the day they laid eyes on him and they will love him unconditionally for eternity. They will forever be changed by his passing. Not a day will go by that he won’t cross their mind. A piece of them passed with him. They lost their baby boy and their hearts are completely broken. He would want them to know that they were the best parents a boy could ever ask for and he’d quote “fight a bear for you” if he needed to.
Shane had one sibling, a little sister. He did all the things a good BIG BROTHER should do. Above all he protected her and she protected him. They always told each other “It’s me and you against the world kid”. Her world will never be the same, but she promises to protect his daughter, their parents, her children, and all of his family the way he protected all of them. He loved her and she loved him. They had a bond like no other and although he is gone from this earth he will always be her BIG BRO!
Shane believed strongly that family was the most important thing in life. He loved his Aunts, Uncles and cousins. His family was his crew and he loved all of them deeply. A special note to his cousins Melissa, Melinda, Carolyn, Steve, Linda Jo, Justin, Larry, Lisa, Leslie, Kim, Christi, Lauri, Darin, Travis, and Hunter please know that you all meant so much to him. Remember his big hugs, his smile, his jokes, and laughter, and keep his memory alive through all the good stories that you have. Always remember him and the good times and that he loved you! When you’re feeling down just imagine his big arms around your neck and take a deep breath because he will always be beside you.
Shane’s friends gave him joy. He took pride in being a good friend and in being there if anyone ever needed him. He was the first to run to your side and defend you, be there for you or to just hangout and probably make your party a lil more fun. He was the life of the party! He’s sorry that your gatherings will probably suck now that he can’t walk through the door and bring in the noise, laughter, dancing, singing, jokes and funny stories. Just remember him when you raise a glass and make a toast to his memory.
Shane loved music his entire life! Not just one kind of music, he loved it all. He could rap the “Humpty Dance” and light up a room. Shane held down many positions throughout his years of working hard to provide for his family, but his real passion was bringing joy to people through music and feeling the wind on his face when he cruised around on his motorcycle. He was one hell of a sports player and he loved a good meal. He always ended the blessings at our family gatherings with “good gravy, good meat, let’s eat!” DJ Shane could pump up a room on his turntables. He had a gift for knowing exactly what music to play when it needed to be played. He was proud of his community, a proud Texan, a lover of sports and he was extremely proud to be an American and he showed that by ending each and every one of his shows by playing “God Bless the U.S.A.” by: Lee Greenwood. He would play it loud and proud while standing with his hat off and on his heart.
He would want his life to be remembered for all of the good times and the fun times. He is still here with each and every person that was in his life and that knew him. If he could grab you and hug you right now, he would.
