Ellouise Kay Brannan, of Lake Jackson, TX, went to her Heavenly home on Monday, March 1, 2021. She was born to Everett and Irma Kay on October 16, 1933 in Freeport, Tx.
Ellouise married the love of her life, Eugene Lester Brannan in 1955, in Freeport, TX. They were blessed to celebrate many happy years prior to his passing in 2008.
Ellouise was a devout Christian and longtime member of Willow Drive Baptist Church. She worked at the appraisal/tax office for many years where she made lifelong friends. Above all, she loved her role as a mother and grandmother.
Ellouise was a loving Mother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. Mimi was a very loving and supportive Grandma. She never missed a sporting event or graduation. She was kind and gentle, yet strong and courageous. Through her actions she taught her family how to stay together through the toughest of times. Ellouise was most happy when surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed taking walks on the beach and family trips to the Frio River. Her love and compassion brought her kids and grandkids home for every holiday and has kept the family close. She loved having a full house and telling stories from all the family trips.
Left to cherish the memory of Ellouise are: son Mike Brannan & wife Lisa of Houston; daughter Leslie Young of Austin; and daughter-in-law Beth Brannan of Austin. Grandchildren: Michelle (Eric Hemphill) and Brent Brannan (Ty Peirce), Blair (Haley Daiber) and Beau Brannan, Miles and Shane (Chandler) Young, Blake and Travis Brannan. Great-grandchildren: Mazik and Adira Hemphill. Ellouise is also survived by two sisters, Charlotte Dougherty and Marilyn Kennedy, and other extended family whom she held dear.
Ellouise was preceded in death by her husband Gene, mother Irma Kay, father Everett Kay, daughter Suzanne Brannan and son Dale Brannan.
The family would like to thank her special friends, devoted caregivers, and IPH Hospice.
