Colby Reid Orton

Colby Reid Orton, age 21 left us much too soon, and went to be with the Lord December 11, 2023. Colby was fun loving, with a goofy character. He had a huge heart that was larger than life, and was full of sarcasm. Colby was born September 12, 2002, in Lake Jackson to James Lee Orton and Nicole Reid Esquivel, living in Richwood Texas.

Colby was welcomed into Heaven by his father James Orton and grandfather William Orton.

He is survived by his precious mother Nicole Reid Esquivel, other dad Niel Esquivel, sisters Sydney Sanders and husband Reggie, Regan Johnson and husband Stephen, and brother Isaac Esquivel. Grandparents, Don and Sue Reid, Joanne Fondon, Jeff and Suzanne Drucker, and Sonny and Lynette Esquivel. Uncle Jason Reid and wife Sandra, Aunt Jeannine Veselka and husband Jim, Aunt Cassie Esquivel. Uncles Billy Orton, Perrie Fondon and wife Marilyn. Special cousins Trey Reid, Mckayla Tipton and husband Nathan Cook, cousins Ashley Lennette and husband Joe, Amanda Lively and husband Brandon, Kirstin Durden, and Britt Abadie. His other half and girlfriend, Kayla Russell and precious family, Tara, Seth, Mya, Colby and Bella.

Colby graduated from Brazoswood High school in 2021. After taking college classes, Colby was an entrepreneur at heart and obtained his electrical apprentice license under Kayla’s dad. He loved making people laugh, playing X-Box, and spending time with family and friends. Colby enjoyed hunting and fishing with his other dad Niel, taking many trips over the years. Colby’s absence leaves a void beyond measure. Though we will forever feel the depth of losing him, his spirit and heart will live with us forever.

Services will be held at Restwood Funeral Home in Clute Tx. Visitation will be on Thursday December 21, 2023 from 11:00am-1:00pm and Celebration of Life from 1:00pm-2:00pm.

Honorary pallbearers are Kennedy Martin, Pierce Parker, Caden Wuensche, Donovan Pleason, Josh Wyatt, Suede Bailey, Aiden Perez, and Sam Holyoke.

In lieu of flowers and to honor Colby’s memory, we encourage donations designated to a local suicide prevention center of your choice.
