Carmen Enriquez Anderson, 79, of Angleton TX entered eternal glory on May 21st 2015 at her home. Guela (as Carmen was known to her family) was born on February 24th to loving parents Adolfo & Ramona Enriquez in Laredo TX. Guela married Douglas Anderson in Angleton in July of 1983.
Guela was a renowned peacekeeper. She could settle any argument, disagreement, conflict, or point of contention that was brought before her. She was the chief advisor to her family; and she could be reached at any time of day or night and could always be relied upon to help wherever she was needed. Guela had a very big heart – she loved her family very dearly, and was always there to be a confidant and friend. Her children all say that beyond being their mother, she was their very best friend. She is sorely missed.
Guela was a member of Church of Christ for 30 years.
Guela's hobbies included sewing, knitting, baking - she loved to make crafts.
Guela was known and loved in the Angleton community, and she was a proud member of the Angleton Citizen Police Force. She was a people person, and her door was always open to anyone.
Guela was a big lover of movies - and going to the movies. While her favorite movie may have been Titanic, she was always watching new movies, and could always be found on Wednesdays and Saturdays at the movie theater.
Guela is survived by her husband of nearly 32 years, Douglas Anderson. She is further survived by her children; daughter Becky Mendoza; daughter Anna (husband Juan) Macedo; son Juan “Johnny” (wife Elvia) Luna; daughter Carmen L. (husband Pedro) Romero; as well as 16 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister Manuela Mendoza, her brother Ricardo Enriquez, and she will be greatly missed by her life-long best friend Gloria Johnson. Her many friends at WalMart - where she was known and loved - will miss her as well.
Guela is preceded in death by her parents, Adolfo Enriquez and Ramona Ybarra; and three grandchildren; Jessica T. Romero, Nathaniel M. Pereda, and Aryanna M. Luna.
