Bonnie Jurries

Bonnie Ruth Day Jurries, age 90, of Richwood, TX passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 11, 2024. Bonnie was born to Walter Day and Nanna Mae Ward Day on February 20, 1933 in Iola, Texas. Bonnie married Lee Roy Jurries in Bedias, TX on March 17, 1951.

Bonnie worked as a housewife and mother. Her greatest joy in life was raising her three children Jimmy, Garry and Rhonda. That is until her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandchildren came along. She enjoyed fishing and camping at Harris Reservoir. She loved cooking and feeding everyone who came to her house. Her home was always immaculate so much so that her house sparkled.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband, of 61 years, Lee Roy Jurries.

Bonnie is survived by sons, Jimmy Jurries (Betty Jo), Garry Jurries (Pam) and daughter Rhonda Tiller (Terry). Grandchildren JoBeth Williams, James Jurries (Kim), Melissa Tiller, Blake Tiller and Katie Jurries. Great-grandchildren Hannah Williams (Dalton), Jaxon and Jase Bullard, Mason Tiller, Jackson and Austin Jurries. Great-great-grandchildren Cove and Lyla Green.

A “Celebration of Life” was held on Wednesday, January 17 at Restwood Funeral Home. The celebration was led by Charlie Singletary with readings by Betty Jo Jurries.

The Jurries family would like to give special “Thanks” to the staff of Oak Village Healthcare for all the love and care they gave to Bonnie.
