2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here!”
Margie was raised in Cleveland, Ohio and was the youngest daughter of Edward and Maria Salzer. Margie moved to the Los Angeles area where she lived with her adopted mother Margaret VanNess. Margie graduate from Benjamin Franklin High School in 1956. After graduating Margie worked for Bank of America during which time she met the love of her life, Donn Cobb, while Donn was attending medical school in Southern California. Margie and Donn were married on July 11, 1959 and eventually moved to Fresno where they began their family.
Margie had a number of special interests. She was a long time member and past President of P.E.O. Chapter QJ. She was very active in the University Presbyterian Church of Fresno where she served on a number of committees, including the San Joaquin Presbytery, Presbytery USA and “Walk to Emmaus”. She was also the Chairperson for the Clovis Unified School District Bond Measure that passed in 1975 that propelled Clovis Unified School District to what it has become today.
Margie loved the outdoors, especially when with her family. She loved the mountains and especially Yosemite National Park and Mineral King in Kings Canyon National Park. She loved gardening and being with her pet dogs and cats and horses. She spent many hours outside with them while working on the property. Most of all she enjoyed entertaining people.
While doing all of this, Margie raised two boys, Joel and Edward Cobb. She was very active and supportive of the boys during her life supporting them with their school and other activities.
Margie is survived by her sister Mildred VanNess; Margie’s son Joel, his wife Stephanie and their children Caitlyn and Kyle and great grandchild Vivienne; Margie’s son Edward and his wife Valerie and their children Avery and Anise.
Margie is proceeded in death by her husband Donn R Cobb MD; brothers Edward and Raymond, and sister Marion.
Memorial services for Margie will be held on Monday, October 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Boice Funeral Home is located at 308 Pollasky Ave, Clovis California.

Margie’s family would like to extend a special thanks to San Joaquin Gardens Assisted Care in Fresno, and Hidden Meadow Memory Care in Columbia Falls, Montana. The people at both places treated mom as one of their own family. They treated us a family and gave us all peace.
