It is a sad and difficult  to talk about a man who to each of us was a friend, relative, parishioner, neighbor or golfing partner.  
In the past few years, I spent more time with Jeff than any of my other friends…we must have golfed 100- times and if we weren’t golfing, we see one another in the neighborhood.   When Jeff walked his dog Chui and later his buddy Sammy, he would stop by and talk to neighbors who were out in their yards or stop by our place to get treats for the dogs.  In retrospect, he did more talking he did walking!! 

Jeff made friends easily and was unique, not because he was an interesting person, but because  he was an interested person. He was genuinely interested in you, what you were doing and what you had to say.  That set him apart and was the reason he was quickly accepted within a group. 

As Jeff would day “You want to know something? Jeff was a gentle giant with a big heart!  He was friendly, gregarious, very outgoing and had what I called Joie de Je! Or joy of life.  Jeff never met a stranger!  Un-fortunely, he was struck with serious health issues but in all the time I have known him, he never complained.  Jeff would say, “You know what?  It is what it is!”   
And he loved golf and he was a very good golfer.  Jeff loved to compete but his biggest competitor was Jeff himself.  To Zoo, golf was a place to really interact and enjoy one’s companions. He was always willing to share his golfing knowledge with friends so that they would enjoy their play more fully.   
Jeff loved Sunnyside and it was reflected in his treatment of the staff.  He was generous to a fault.
The Zoo was a people person through and through. The man loved golf, his friends, his church family, his neighbors and most of all his wife.  Effie, he truly loved you and praised you for bringing order and purpose to his life.
I am going to think of Jeff for the rest of my life, like I do many of my close friends who have gone west. and I, like many of you, will miss him!  



I’m sorry to find about about Jeff’s passing - just heard today.   Although I hadn’t seen Jeff in many years - he’s not a man you’d forget.   Full of life, funny, and man could he hit a golf ball.   My mother and Papa Joe spoke very fondly of him.   My deepest condolences to Jeff’s family.   

Like Lynn, I’m a 1st cousin. My mom, Liz, and Irene (Lynn) always looked up to their brothers John and Tom.

jeff and I were cousins I remember  him when I was a kid his father  and my mother were brother and sister. He use to work for my father at  coldwater country club.  I love you jeff
