The son of Jacob and Rose Presser, Jake was one of six children.
Although born in San Francisco, Jacob grew up in Sanger, California and attended Sanger High School.
After high school, Jake enlisted in the United States Navy and served with the construction battalion otherwise known as the Seabees during the Vietnam War. He valued his service highly and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.
Beyond his military service, Jake worked in wholesale plumbing and was a skilled handyman, always ready to lend a helping hand. In 1966, Jake married Sandra Inman and together they had four children. In 1986, Jake found love again and married Betty Franco, whom he cherished dearly for 37 years.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Presser, sons Dennis Presser and David Presser, daughters Jennifer Howland (Adam) and Sarah Presser (Shelly), stepson Louis “Matthew” Franco Jr., his sister Beverly French (Bruce), his brother Leon Presser (Dianne), and his sister Barbara Stalis (Angelo), granddaughters Katherine Howland, Addison Howland and Kayla Franco. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Erna Mae Taylor (William), and Betty Sullivan (Larry).
A Celebration Honoring the Life of Jake Presser will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Boice Funeral Home located at 308 Pollasky Avenue in Clovis.
