Virginia E. Geier, age 87 died in the early morning of June 5, 2012. Virginia was born March 29, 1925 in Armada, raised in a family of 8 children in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. Through the years Virginia had many jobs, none more important to her than being a Mother and Grandmother.
Known by ‘Ginnie’ to all who loved her, she was a very determined and lively lady who generously opened her home to anyone who would like to join her for coffee and conversation. When reflecting on the many things that brought her joy you would hear the sounds of Big Band music, and watch as her feet would start to move..…you would enjoy the aromas of her baking the favorite Thanksgiving pies or Christmas Cookies ..….you would watch as she delicately placed photographs in frames of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren around her room..….you would find that even in financially tight times she would shower you with enormous generosity.
Beloved mother of Bonnie (Jerry) McPhillips, Alexander (Amy) Geier Jr., Jeffery (Cindy) Geier and Steven (Kimberly) Geier. Virginia was the Grandmother of 12, the Great-Grandmother of 22 and the Great-Great Grandmother to 2.
Dear sister of Lillian Maas and Anna Heinspeter.
Predeceased by her husband Alexander Geier Sr., siblings – Dorothy Weiner, Evelyn Kurkowski, Mildred Kaye, Henry Goeschel, Butch Goeschel and William Goeschel; parents Agnes and Henry Goeschel.
Memorial visitation will be 12 noon until time of service at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Resurrection Funeral Home 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, Michigan.
