Roy Milton Gurney of Chesterfield, MI passed away on November 2, 2022. He was born on November 17, 1936, in Chewelah, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Muriel Gurney (Sleater), wife, Sharon (Kurlovech) and stepson, Thomas Randall. He is survived by his daughter, Kerry Denino (Steve), brother, George Gurney, sister, Lugene Boyd (John), grandchildren Samuel and Nicholas Denino, stepchildren Sherry Sirey (Ron), Curt Randall (Denise), Brad Randall, and 5 step grandchildren.
Roy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, stationed in Germany in the 1950’s. He then attended Washington State University earning a bachelor’s degree that started his career in Construction Engineering and Management.
He was a lifelong music lover and a 61-year member of The Barbershop Harmony Society. Roy sang in several different quartets and choruses throughout the years and shared that beloved hobby with many of his family members. He was also an enthusiast of old cars and an avid sports fan. He could always be found watching tennis, baseball, football, basketball, auto racing and more.
