Lisa Ann Teerlinck was born on February 10, 1961 to her parents, Victor and Lois. She had two siblings, Vic and Suzanne. She also had 6 cousins, including Karen, with whom she shared the same birthday.
Lisa was a special caregiver throughout her life. She was there to help her Mother, Grandfather, and brother. She cared deeply for those she loved and would help in any way that she could.
Lisa grew up in SCS, Michigan & graduated from Lakeview high school in 1979, where she met some of her lifelong friends who were there for her until the very end. Speaking of friends, Lisa or “Buffy” as many called her, was the best friend you could ever have. She was kind and patient. She always gave compliments and let you know she cared about you, and she really loved hugs.
Lisa spent 15 years of her life, with her partner Becky Locke, until Becky passed away. They had a large group of close friends who they spent much of their time with. These friends vacationed together, played sports together, but most importantly, they loved each other unconditionally.
Lisa was a very hard worker. She worked at many companies over the years, ending her career at Hartland Healthcare Center. She was always a stellar employee and took great pride in her work.
Lisa stayed very active in life and enjoyed many sports. She was on softball leagues, golf leagues, bowling leagues, and was on a wally ball league for 12 years! Lisa loved being outside and in the water, whether in a pool, vacationing in Mexico, or on a houseboat in Lake Cumberland!
Lisa loved dogs, pizza, sweets, a good tan, dancing, and having a good time. She loved to laugh… sometimes until she peed. She was always on time and a very neat person. Up to a few years ago, she also enjoyed playing euchre and loved the time spent with her euchre buddies. She would do anything for those she loved, especially all the babies she loved throughout her life.
Lisa was loved by many. Most people in her life were friends who became her family. Over the past 10 years, Lisa was mainly cared for by one of her oldest and dearest friends, Michele Vitale. Michele & Lisa loved each-other like sisters, along with Linda Popp who passed away in 2022. They did everything together and Michele tried everything she could to keep Lisa comfortable, and at home these last few years. Michele has two daughters, and 4 grandchildren, all who Lisa loved like her own. Lisa was there the day Elisabetta and Sara were born, and then again when the grand babies came along. She was the best “Aunt” you could ever ask for.
Lisa loved children. She truly enjoyed them, but she was so selfless. She always knew she might get Huntingtons disease, like her Mom and her brother, and for that reason, she chose to never have children.
Lisa fought this terrible disease for many years. She stayed positive & never complained. Although it is wonderful that she is no longer suffering, we all know that she deserved so much more from this life. Lisa will be missed every single day.
A visitation for Lisa will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road in Clinton Township. A funeral service will take place that evening at 6:00 pm on Wednesday.
