A cherished Detroit native and devoted member of the Eastern Star. As a dedicated homemaker, she found joy in creating a warm haven for her family. Her love for sports, especially the Red Wings and the Tigers, brought moments of excitement and unity. Fond memories of her younger days include the thrill of roller skating, a passion that marked the beginning of a beautiful journey with her husband. A proud member of Christ Church Fraser, she leaves behind a legacy of love, faith and cherished memories. May her soul find eternal peace.
She is survived by her children, Denise (Ron) Glashauser, Dina Kevern, Dennis (Karen) Lackey & Derek (Rene') Lackey; Grandchildren, Liz (Mike) Eden, Darryl (Karley) Glashauser, Stephanie (Kevin) Steffer, Sean (Tara) Glashauser, Jared (Hannah) Kevern, Brandon Pence, Samantha (Jared) Piro, Preston Lackey, Michael Pence, Shelby Lackey, Alaina (Matt) Hiteshew, Alex Pence, Ethan Lackey, Brendan Lackey, Trevor Lackey, Audrey Lackey, & Benjamin Lackey; 15 Great Grandchildren and many Nieces and Nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years James S. Lackey, her parents and her sister Sharon Palonis.
A visitation for Laura will be held Monday, November 13, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd, Clinton Township, MI 48035.
On Tuesday, November 14, 2023, the family will greet guests at 9:00 AM up until the time of the Funeral Service at 10:00 AM, at Christ Church Fraser, 34385 Garfield Rd., Fraser, MI 48026.
Immediately following the Funeral Service, the family will ask guests to join them in the church hall for coffee and pastries before its time to go to the cemetery.
A committal service will occur Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 1:30 PM at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI 48442.
