Fred was born on March 23, 1936, in Detroit, MI to his late parents, Maria and Frederick Froehlich. Fred was preceded in death by his sister, Lore (Gerhard) Froehlich, and brother Werner (Sally) Froehlich. Fred was a gentle and patient man known for his loving nature as a husband and a wonderful uncle and great uncle.
Fred proudly enlisted, completed basic training and served in Active Reserve of the United States Army, a commitment that reflected his dedication and discipline. After his military service, he embarked on a career at Chrysler, first as a Tool and Die maker, then in quality control, demonstrating his keen attention to detail and commitment to excellence.

Loving Great Uncle to Ryan Heuchert, Mark (Jolene) Heuchert, Michael Kaiser, Kevin (Audrey) Kaiser, Rachel Froehlich, and Michael Froehlich, Brian (Cait) Like, David Like, Rachel Like (Alex Krebs), Jennifer (James) Zientak, Nicholas (Olivia) Cellitti, Pietro (Holly) Cellitti, as well as Great-Great Uncle to Myles Kaiser, Jocelyn and Luke Heuchert, Tyler and Kendall Heuchert, Anthony (AJ) and Isla Zientak, and Benjamin Like.
Fred was a devout member of St. Isadore Catholic Church in Macomb, MI. Fred found joy in his hobbies, which included golf and baseball, activities that he pursued with the same passion he devoted to every aspect of his life.
Fred’s legacy of kindness, and patience will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have known him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 10:00 am-11:00 am when a memorial service will be held at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF.org) or the Alzheimer’s Association, organizations that reflect his compassion and concern for others.
