Born on February 18, 1930 in Trapani, Sicily, Filippa dedicated her life to nurturing her family with food, love and care.
In the kitchen, Filippa's culinary talents shone brightly as she delighted in preparing meals for her loved ones. The kitchen was the place she loved. Her soups, pasta dishes and desserts were a testament to her skill and passion. Regardless of the occasion, Filippa ensured that her family was always well-fed and satisfied. But it wasn’t just about the food; it was about the love and warmth that infused every meal she prepared. Her grandkids, in particular, will fondly remember their Nonna’s delicious creations and the joy of gathering around the table with her, enjoying the rich traditions and culture of her homeland.
Filippa leaves behind a legacy of loving family; She was the beloved wife for 57 years to the late Jimmy Fonte; Loving mother of Anna Lesch (Jeffrey); Adoring Nonna of Marissa Lesch, Nicholas Lesch, and Sabrina Lesch; Dear sister of Enzo Berretta and Maria Calamela, and cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews all over Italy (who she still kept in close contact with).
