Donato Nicholas Mercurio

Beloved husband of 62 years to Mary; adored father of Christine (Craig) Kozumplik, the late Lisa Mercurio, Renee Mercurio, and Daniel Mercurio; proud grandpa of Chad (Melissa) Kozumplik, Tristan Kelly (Danielle Brazil), Cayla (Corey) Buffa, the late Joseph Kelly, Jordyn Kelly, and Chloe Kozumplik; great grandfather of Noah and Cameron. Donato was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Helen; brother, Ernest; and sister, Marie Moore.

Donato enjoyed spending time at their cottage up north; often fishing, hunting, and admiring the great outdoors. He was an avid collector of trains and guns, and loved rooting for Detroit sports teams. Above all, Donato was most proud of his family and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will greet guests from 2:00pm until 8:00pm with a 7:00pm Prayer Service on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd., Clinton Twp., Michigan. Entombment will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday, December 18 at Christian Memorial Gardens West, 521 E. Hamlin Rd., Rochester Hills, Michigan.
