Bruce Duncan Jones, age 83, of Macomb, Michigan passed away in his home on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. He is the beloved father of Carolyn Johnson (Paul), Robert Jones, and Jenifer Streif (Christopher); loving grandfather of Andrew Johnson, Ryan Johnson, and Robert Streif; Dear brother of Alan McLeod (Cynthia) and Lawrence Jones (Diane). Bruce was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Kathleen, his brothers Dennis Jones and John Jones, his sister Janet Johnson and his parents, Lawrence and Sarah.
He was born on June 22, 1939 on the far west side of Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Pershing High School and received an Associate’s Degree with honors in Industrial Supervision and Management from Macomb Community College.
Bruce was a man of many hats; loving husband, father, brother, teacher, manager, speaker, friend and neighbor. He was active in his church and community and served his country in the U.S. Navy. He taught religious education, was a Cub Scout Pack Leader, President of his neighborhood association, and active in the school PTA. He was an avid reader and loved to tell stories. He adored his dogs.
A visitation for Bruce will be held Sunday, January 22, 2023 from 2:00-8:00 PM at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, Michigan 48038. A visitation will follow on Monday, January 23, 2023 at 10:00 AM, until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM, also at the funeral home. A chapel committal service will take place immediately following funeral service at Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Road, Clinton Township, Michigan 48038. At the conclusion of Monday's services, the family has invited everyone to share a meal in Bruce's memory at Fern Hill Golf Club, 17600 Clinton River Road in Clinton Township, Michigan 48038.
