Betty Carlin Saputo

Betty C. Saputo (Payne), age 85, of Ira Township, Michigan, passed away on June 14, 2023. She was born to the late Dean (Payne) Williams and Samuel D. Payne in the Great Smokey Mountains of East Tennessee on October 10, 1937. She moved to Michigan as a young lady to start her life as a homemaker, wife and mother. Betty enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and crocheting. She loved annual visits to the cider mill and to the Armada Fair. Many memories were made traveling with the grandchildren, taking them to different zoos.

She is survived by her daughters, Wanda Kabatoff, Lorraine Coppens (Chuck), Julie Pyrzewski (Martin), Jeanne Anderson (Brian) and DeRhonda Robb; step-children, Nick Saputo (Julie), Debbie Dennis (Scott), Caroline Guziak (Gary), Joe Saputo (Rose), and Chris Scism (Tim); and many generations of grandchildren. Betty is preceded in death by her husband Salvatore, son Mark Kabatoff, and stepsons Salvatore Saputo (Glenda) and Fred Saputo.

Betty will be laid to rest with her husband at New Providence Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Maryville, Tennessee.
