Barbara Marie Fried, age 69, of Clinton Township, Michigan passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023. She was born November 27th 1953 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Nelson & Geraldine (Fortin) Nerswick.
Barbara graduated from Wayne State University. She was the president of the French Canadian Heritage Society, and enjoyed participating in reenactments with them. Barbara enjoyed genealogy and researching about her family. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Barbara created scrapbooks and crafted jewelry. She loved her family, and when her grandchildren were born they stole her heart. Barbara will be greatly missed.
Barbara was married for 50 years, to the love of her life, Michael Fried, and he survives. She also leaves behind her children, Alison (Sean) Slyman; Russell Fried, Ryan (Tara) Fried; her grandchildren, Liam Slyman, Olivia Fried and Scarlett Fried. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her daughters Rebecca Fried and Rachel Fried.
A visitation for Barbara will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2023 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd, Clinton Township, MI 48035. Instate will occur Wednesday, August 16, 2023 from 10:00 am until the Funeral Mass at 10:30am St. Margaret of Scotland, 21201 13 Mile Rd, St Clair Shores, MI 48082. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township, Michigan.
