Anthony Joseph Gargano, age 75, of Sterling Heights, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. Anthony was the loving father of Danielle (Brian) Alexander, Anthony Gargano Jr., and Ryan (Erin) Gargano. He was the beloved Papa of Johnny, Angelo, Mario; and the dear brother of Marie (Victor) Pone and Diane (Richard) Kline. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Josephine Gargano.
Anthony served in the Army and courageously fought in the Vietnam War. He was wounded in combat and a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal. After an honorable discharge, Anthony joined his father to work in the family business. He was the owner of Gargano Construction Company in Sterling Heights for over 40 years. Anthony enjoyed a well-deserved retirement, highlighted by casino bus trips, vacations to Mexico, and explorations of the American Southwest with his children. He was also active in his community and served in many leadership positions within The Fraternal Order of the Eagles and the Moose Lodge.
A visitation for Anthony will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road in Clinton Township. Military honors will take place at 6:00 PM. There will be a private burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
