Agnes Paola Zaccanti, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, at the age of 96. Born with a creative spirit and a gentle soul, Agnes found great joy in expressing her talents through watercolor painting, where her works reflected her love for beauty and nature. She was also known for her culinary skills, crafting meals that brought people together and warmed their hearts. Agnes cherished her daily walks, which were a time of reflection and connection with the world around her.
Agnes was the loving wife of the late Arthur J. Zaccanti Sr. and the beloved mother of the late Arthur J. Zaccanti Jr. and the late Paula Marie Zaccanti. She was the cherished grandmother of Stacey (Chris) Ary, Chris (Jamie) Zaccanti, and Stephanie Gornowich, and the dear great-grandmother of Paula, Darren, Jaxon, Ryder, Kaiden, Jozlynn, Alex, Brooklyn, Dylan, and Bella.
Agnes shared a special bond with her sisters, Gloria Bertollini and Marge Chesnick, and was predeceased by her brother Camillo Simonetti. She was also a devoted mother-in-law to the late Denise Kovacs. Her family extended beyond immediate relations to include many loving nieces and nephews who were touched by her kindness and warmth.
A funeral service for Agnes will take place on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 11:00 am at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road in Clinton Township. Friends may visit on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 am. Agnes will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan.
