Zachary Ziggy Arthur Bernier

Zachary Arthur Bernier, age 24 of Clinton, CT, passed away Friday, January 19th 2018. He is survived by his father, Charles Bernier; mother, Lisa Bernier; sisters, Amity, Brittany, and Taylor; his grandfather, Robert Hine; grandparents, Raymond and Louise Bernier, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends. He is predeceased by his grandmother, Loretta Hine, and his aunt, Deborah Hine. Zach, “Ziggy,” was a freethinking, open minded, conscientious, loving, and spirited being. He was so into the earth and the environment and he cared so SO much about recycling. Zach had such a strong love for music, he could answer almost any question you asked him, and he listened to a wide variety, some dating back to years before he was born. He frequently attended concerts; that was his favorite way to connect with anyone, through music. He was incredibly accepting of others and he truly had an impact on everyone in his life. Zack was very sincere in his wanting to be there for anyone. He had such a passion for having meaningful, intellectual conversations with the people he cared about, and even with strangers. He will be deeply missed. Calling hours will be from 9 am to 12 pm, on Saturday, January 27th, at Swan Funeral Home in Clinton. A prayer service will be held at 1 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at 2 pm at Indian River Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Families Helping Families (P.O. Box 166, Clinton, CT) or Soldier Boxes, care of Cindy Stevens.
