I consider it a blessing to have known Bill Joseph.

It was always a joy to be with Bill.  He was a truly unique man and gift to all of us who grew up with him.  His zest for  life, kindness and generosity will live in my heart forever.  Lilli Harris

Bill was very special. His warmth, devotion to friends, and passion for public service was inspiring. 
I considered Bill a mentor in my nonprofit work,a loyal supporter in my political work, and a strong and wise advocate and ally in my government work. Most of all, he was a great guy and a great friend.

It was our great privilege to know Bill in several aspects for over 40 years.  At first, Les at Arter and Hadden when Bill started his career., and then for Karen who had the honor of knowing his mother Martha and her leadership with the piano competition.  Bill was always there when Martha and I had need for advice and we became friends with Bill's father Frank, and with other members of the family.

What a premature and great loss to the community at so many levels.  We will always remember the many kindnesses and joy that Bill brought to so many people.  Our community is greatly enriched by him and his entire family.

Bill was my oldest friend.  This relationship was glue that made early life engaging for me and others as well.  As time passed that glue never became undone.  Bill made sure of that.

We ache for you as you must bear a heavy burden of sadness and loss. Mr. Joseph was so very wonderful -- kind, bright with no arrogance, hard-working but always with time for his beloved family. You will be in our prayers and thoughts.

Bill was a dear friend ever since I met him in the early 1970's through our Board membership at Cleveland Ballet.  Like his father, Bill dedicated himself to helping the arts in Cleveland. He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by many.  My sincere condolences to his family.

We were so fortunate to have Bill as a collegue and friend from the Arter & Hadden days and all these many years.  His warmth, humor and kindness will be so missed. I was thrilled to work with him again at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center, where he was a Board member helping us chart a new course in the community.

Bill was one of the kindest, most sincere people I have ever met.  When I joined Arter & Hadden in 1981, he went out of his way to make me feel welcome.  In that respect, I was certainly not alone.  Bill was also the leading attorney for non-profit entities in the area.  My sincere condolences to the entire Joseph family, especially his children and grandchildren, to whom he left a legacy founded on charity, good deeds, and acts of lovingkindness.  May he rest in eternal peace and dignity.  His memory is a blessing for all who had the pleasure to know him.

Bill was a wonderful friend and colleague. I worked with him at Recovery Resources. He is a tremendous loss to the Greater Cleveland community. I am sorry to miss his services.  My condolences to his family and friends.

Bill was a mensh in the finest sense of the word.  He did wonderful things for so many and carried himself with class. I will always remember those Sunday mornings at Arabica at  Shaker Square sitting around the table as we debated the issues of the day.  Pat and me offer our heartfelt sympathy. Bill was a remarkable and very good man. He and I were summer clerks together at Arter & Hadden in 1971 and stayed friends ever since. He bought lunch on my birthday nearly every year for 40 years. Kind, generous, quick to laugh and a friend in every sense. He will be greatly missed by me and every person who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Bill was a classmate of mine at Shaker. He later was our attorney for Greater Cleveland Veterans Memorial, Inc. and a fellow participant in Torah study at Tifereth Israel. He helped me work through a problem at JFSA in the interim, and always said, "if you have a problem, let me know." He and his mother both gave emotional as well as financial support to the Cleveland Orchestra and at least the later to CIM. News of his death Saturday morning at the Libary Minyan at Anshe Chesed-Fairmount Temple shocked me, as did his being wheeled in on a chair at TTI several weeks ago. I was preparing material to send him about my Chinese herbalist Saturdy morning just before hearing of his untimely death. Shalom rav.

Bill, as I knew him, was compassionate, caring, inclusive, and conscientious. Community-minded. But if you're reading this message, you probably already know that.

Bill was a wonderful man who was generous with his time and talent.  I first met him in the summer of 1970 when we both had a clerkship with the law firm of Weston Hurd.  I knew  him last when we served together on the Board of Hiram College.  He will be missed.

I had the honor of being your father's secretary at Weston Hurd.  Your father was an awesome man.  He had a heart of gold.  This world has lost a great man.  I'm sorry for your loss.

My heartfelt condolences to the Joseph family.  I was very blessed to have known him.  I will miss his kindess, his wisdom, and will always have a chuckle when he had to call me when he couldn't track my husband down.  Rest in peace Bill.

Bill was an extraordinary arts advocate, community leader, generous friend, and fine example of a deeply caring life. His influence is everywhere and he will be sorely missed. Deepest sympathy to his family.

Mr. Joseph was wonderful to work with, he was soft spoken, but got his point across.  My sympathy to his family and friends.

Bill and I became close friends when he joined Weston Hurd in the 1980s.  He was a wonderful person and mentor who taught me so much as a young lawyer.  He loved and celebrated life and his passion for the arts was an expression of the beauty of his soul.

Bill was a founder, first Board President and dedicated Board member for 22 years.  Most of all he was a supporter, cheerleader, counselor and most of all one of my best friends.  I miss him already.

I was so sorry to hear that Bill's courageous battle with cancer has ended.  As his secretary over the past year, I witnessed his struggle firsthand.  I admired him both personally and professionally and never knew anyone who had as many friends or who deserved them more. I will never forget Bill and am fortunate to have worked with him.

A great friend to The Cleveland Institute of Art and to me.  His warmth and generosity to me made my move to Cleveland easy.  His advocacy for the arts was deep felt and effective.  We will miss him.

A great man who valued family, friends, truth, and culture.  You will be missed, my friend.

Bill was such a positive force. His frequent response was "How can I help?" He was smart, fun and will be greatly missed.

I feel fortunate to have met him and to have been a part of Sunday mornings at the Oakwood Club. Generous, intelligent, and compassionate, he embodied the best attributes of a good friend.
