Annette was born to Maisie and Basel Gowie, in East London, on February 18th, 1942.
She spent her formative years with her sister Marilyn, living in Oatlands house, in Grahamstown, South Africa.
As a young woman, she worked hard to advance in nursing, and worked in the hospital, and blood bank, even working with Christiaan Barnard, the world's first heart transplant surgeon. After years of advancing her career, she met the love of her life, Eric Strasburg and settled in Cape Town, They then moved to Shaker Heights, Ohio, to provide more opportunity for their children. She enjoyed immersing herself in Cleveland life, and the early fitness craze. She enjoyed frequent trips to her beloved South Africa. From the moment they met. Eric and Annette remained inseparable.
Beloved wife of the late Dr. Eric Strasburg. She is survived by her children, David (Dania) Strasburg, Ruth Weil and Basil (Jessica) Strasburg. Devoted grandmother of Celia, Olivia, Jacob and Julia. Dear sister of the late Marilyn Gowie.
Private services were held.
Family requests no visitation at residence.
