Mr. Travis Michael Martin

Our loving son went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 6, 2011 after a brief illness at the age of 22. Travis was loved by his family and friends. He is the son of Michael Weldon Martin and Barbara Younger Martin. Travis leaves behind his younger sister, Taylor Ashley Martin; his grandparents, Flo and Max Weavil; and grandmother, Betty Younger. Travis was loved by his aunts and uncles, Vickie and Jack Tolley, Sharon and Jack Adams, Kathy Donathan, Jack and Steve Younger, Susan Martin, Judy and Terry Jarvis; and many cousins. Travis was engaged to be married to Courtney Marie Poth on July 30, 2011. Travis was looking forward to his wedding and his future with Courtney. Travis attended Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida where he met Courtney. Travis was put on this earth for a short time but God had a plan for him. Travis worked for his dad at T.W. Construction Services, LLC. He loved playing golf and fishing with his dad. He was an avid supporter of Wake Forest sports. He loved his pets, especially Boo the cat. There will never be anyone that will ever take his place. His smile would light up a room. Travis was a member of Winston-Salem First Assembly on University Parkway. Travis will dearly be missed by his family and friends. God needed another Angel so he took Travis home.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2011, 11:00 a.m., at Winston-Salem First Assembly. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 10, 2011, 7:00-9:00 p.m., at Vogler and Sons Reynolda Chapel.

Interment will follow the funeral service at Forsyth Memorial Park.
