Roy Edward Bascomb

He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. After his service, Roy worked as a teacher for over 30 years in Riverhead Central School District in Long Island, NY. He was also a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts turning out 9 Eagle Scouts. In his spare time, Roy loved hunting. He was a member of Mattituck Gun Club in New York.

Roy was married to the late Evelyn Bascomb for 63 years. He is survived by their sons, Richard Bascomb (Donna) and James Bascomb; granddaughter, Kerrie Bascomb (Frank) Ragan; grandsons, Christopher and Trevor Bascomb; and great-grandson, Rhys Ragan.

A funeral service for Roy will be held Friday, March 22, at 11 AM at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church of Winston-Salem, Father Steve Rice officiating. Entombment will follow funeral services at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons, NC.
