Richard was born in Montgomery, AL to Richard William Morris and the late Carolyn Scobey Morris.
He studied at Westminster School in Simsbury, CT and graduated from Montclair High School. He attended Essex County, NJ Community College, and Forsyth County NC Technical College where he completed his Certification in Industrial Welding. He was a member of the Essex County Carpenter’s Union: Local 1632. Richard worked in a variety of fields including positions at Glenridge Country Club, NJ; broadcast sales in Manhattan; and most recently in industrial construction in TX and NC.
Rich has a very outgoing and engaging personality and was happiest among family and friends. He loved fiction, music, and sports, especially his favorite teams, the New Orleans Saints, Alabama Crimson Tide, and North Carolina Tar Heels. His family is comforted that he spent this Thanksgiving joyfully with his large extended family in Seabrook Island, SC. He will be missed by many friends and family across the country. Richard is survived by his father, Richard William Morris, and brother, Thomas E. Morris, of Seabrook Island, SC, and maternal grandmother, Vera Bowles Scobey of Clemmons, NC.
