Patricia was born on December 26, 1948 to the late John Scourby and Gloria Murphy Scourby in Queens, New York. She went on to work for Ryder Transportation Service in Long Island for 24 years before retiring. In her spare time, Patricia loved thrifting, antiquing, going to yard sales, and listening to music. She loved to find a good bargain and she always went prepared with her shopping list.
In 2003, Patricia and her husband moved to Clemmons, North Carolina to be closer to their grandchildren. Patricia was the epitome of a grandmother. She was loyal, yet spunky, and loving, yet honest. Patricia adored her time with her family and soaked up every moment. Her family will always remember her cooking for them and taking time to teach her grandchildren her baking recipes.
Patricia leaves behind her husband of 58 years, Edward “Eddie” Steven Purchacki; son, John Michael (Lisa) Purchacki; grandchildren, Austin, Samantha, Gianna, Eddie, Eric, Emily, Alexa, and Hailey; great grandchildren, Layla and Nicholas; siblings, Peter Scourby, Mary Giacopelli, and Lori Scourby; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and loved ones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Edward Steven Purchacki, Jr, and brother, Joseph Scourby.
Patricia was smart, witty, and brought joy to so many people. Her presence will be missed by everyone who had the fortune of meeting her.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13th from 12pm-2pm and 6pm-8pm at Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home in Clemmons. A memorial service will be held Friday at 10am at Frank Vogler & Sons.
