Born in Highpoint, North Carolina, Linda was the daughter of Ester W. Hartley and Charles E. Hartley. She was a proud alumni of San Diego State University where she graduated Cum Laude in 1990 receiving a bachelor’s degree in English with distinction and a minor in Creative writing. She retired from R.J. Reynolds in 2012 where she worked approximately 10 years in Accounts Receivable.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping at the beach with her grandchildren, travelling across country, loving her fur-babies, reading (especially anything by Stephen King), having political discussions, music, creative writing and poetry, and puzzles like Sudoku and Crossword. She will be remembered for her compassion for others, love of education, humanitarian equality, and dedication to her family.
Linda is survived by husband Robert Clark Hill, Sons Wade Dean Hill and Robert Charles Hill, Daughter-in-Law Jennifer M. Vogler, Grandchildren Cypress W. Hill and Dasia M. Hill, Sister Patricia A. McKinley, 2 Sisters-in-law, 3 brothers-in-law, 9 cousins, 6 nieces and 4 nephews, God Daughter Kim Martin, four fur-babies, close friend Kathy Childress and countless other endearing friends.
The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday August 11th, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Frank Vogler’s Funeral Home in Clemmons, North Carolina. Visitation with the family will be held immediately after the service at the Funeral Home.
