Julia was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on September 17,1930, to Curtis and Sadie Johnson Creasy, and lived her young adult life in the Winston-Salem and Clemmons area of North Carolina. In 1964 with her husband and children, she would move to Elkin, North Carolina and live there for the next 57 years. She was employed by Hanes Hosiery as a Quality Control Supervisor for over 35 years.
She had a life-long love of music and sang in the choir at the First Baptist Church in Elkin, North Carolina, where she is a member. Julia faithfully sang for 50 consecutive years in the Elkin Community Christmas Chorus. She loved time spent at the beach with her family, working in her flower garden, and calling thousands of games of “BINGO!”. She also was a proud member of the “Red Hats”.
Julia is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ralph John Reed, her brother, Walter Landon Creasy, and sister, Paula Creasy Gaba.
Survivors include children, Dee Reed Register (Doug) of Cary, North Carolina, and Ralph John Reed, Jr. (Rhonda) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brothers, William Creasy of Clemmons, North Carolina and Bing Creasy of Cary, North Carolina; and sister, Nanette Creasy Spainhour of Clemmons, North Carolina.
A private graveside ceremony will be held at The Clemmons First Baptist Church in Clemmons, North Carolina with only family members attending.
