Mrs. Reavis was born in Iredell County to the late William Luther Reavis and Henrietta Reavis Reavis. She was employed at Hanes Hosiery as a supervisor for 37 years. She has been a member of College Park Baptist Church since 1949 and was active in the WMU, sang in the choir for 47 years and also with the Grace Notes. She always was one of the first to volunteer to serve at church and being a great cook she was always ready with a special dish for pot-luck, an ill church member or a bereaved family. She enjoyed volunteering for several years at Brookridge as a Holy Roller which served the residents who are wheel chair bound, taking them to chapel or other activities. She had a special knack when it came to raising peonies and was often asked by the church to provide centerpieces for the Wednesday evening meal. She married Thomas Blaine Reavis on October 6, 1934 who preceded her in death in 1993.
She is survived by her brother and spouse, William & Lucille Reavis of Yadkinville; sister, Myrtle Shermer of Winston-Salem; and eight very special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Pauline R. Phillips and Nellie R. Cranfill.
