Barbara "Bobbie" Joan Capron was born Barbara Joan Moser on February 9, 1937 to Philip and Beatrice Moser in the Bronx, New York. She died peacefully, surrounded by family June 29, 2024 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Palliative Care.
Bobbie graduated from Walton High School in the Bronx NY in 1954. She worked retail at Bloomingdales and as a receptionist and telephone switchboard operator. She married James Brian Capron, her high school sweetheart, on December 29, 1956, becoming a Marine Corps Officer's wife. They were married for 68 years and lived in 20 different homes in the course of their life together.
They proceeded to have 5 children in 8 years. Therefore, her primary occupation was raising children. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband, J Brian Capron, and her children Brian (Linda), Ken (Lisa), Kathy Graham (Tom), Tom, Mary Monk. Her grandchildren include Ben and Nick Capron, Christian, Maria and Luke Graham and Austin Monk. Her great grandchildren include Elisa Graham, Liam Graham, Hanley North, Knox, Hayes and Lila Monk. Bobbie is predeceased by her parents Philip and Beatrice, sisters Carolyn Hussey (Bob) and Judy Wikel (Bill).
Bobbie always had a passion for books and reading. Later in life, she became an entrepreneur opening two bookstores. Her daughters followed her on this path and owned bookstores of their own. She loved to dance. She loved to swim and loved the ocean. She loved to travel. She was a wonderful seamstress and knitter. She battled Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis for 28 years. As she became less ambulatory, she spent many hours with her coloring books and Kindle. She will be sorely missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Frank Vogler and Sons Funeral Home in Clemmons Friday, July 5th at 2pm. The family will be receiving friends at 1pm prior to the service.
