Ochsner-Bullock, Shirley M, 92 of Palm Harbor, FL peacefully passed away January 26, 2016. Shirley was born in Kirkville, NY. Before retirement she was a Labor & Delivery ward secretary at Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital in Syracuse NY. She was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Palm Harbor, FL. She was preceded in death by her loving husbands, Edward M Ochsner, Oliver Bullock, and granddaughter, Victoria L. Ochsner. She is survived by son, Edward M. Ochsner, Jr and daughters, Patricia A. Bates, Sharon M. Bubel and Barbara J. Roberts. Shirley has 9 Grandchildren, 20 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandson. Shirley and Edward “Papa” were married for 55 wonderful years. They were an inspiration to all who knew them. They were considered “snowbirds”, summered in Jamesville, NY and wintered in Zephyrhills, FL. Eventually they moved permanently to Zephyrhills. After the passing of the love of her life, Edward, she married Oliver Bullock. Oliver and Shirley were married for 10 yrs. Shirley loved her children and all of her grandchildren. They were her whole world, always telling them how proud she was of them. She loved crocheting afghans for all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Shirley had many hobbies, playing BINGO was one of them. When she walked into the Bingo Hall everyone would say “Oh dear Shirley’s here, be prepared to lose tonight!” Even at the age of 86, she was still playing darts. Shirley was a sharp dresser and had a love of jewelry. She had so much jewelry, that she could open a store in her home. All the grand & great granddaughter’s loved to play with Grandma’s jewelry. If you happen to lose her in a department store, you could always find her at the jewelry counter. Her drink of choice was hot tea! All the grandchildren loved to make Grandma her tea. Shirley was loving, spunky, and hilarious and one of the sweetest women you could meet. She was an inspiration and left an impact on everyone who met her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends but we rest in the knowledge that she was at peace and reunited with the love of her life, Papa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Suncoast Hospice Foundation, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760.
