John E. Hazuka, 79, loving husband of the late Beth (Riggs) Hazuka passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021 surrounding by his children and loved ones. Born February 21, 1942, he was the son of the late John P. and Elizabeth Hazuka.
He always wanted a large family and is survived by his five children; Denise Koontz (Frank Celin), John (Dena) Hazuka, Cindy Kacin, Lori (Don) DeRosa and Melissa (Todd) Kacin; two sisters Bernice (Lou) Pivirotto and Margaret (Murray) Koerner.
Loving grandfather to thirteen grandchildren James Koontz, Megan Keel, Jordyn Rounkles, John Hazuka, Blade Gundermann, Cameron Hazuka, Michael Kacin, Brian Kacin, Justin DeRosa, Brandon DeRosa, Matthew DeRosa, Todd Kacin Jr. and Alexa Kacin; ten great-grandchildren Emma and Kaytlin Koontz, Robert, Maximus and Emmett Keel, Lily and Parker Kacin, Wesson Kacin, Logan DeRosa and Wyatt Rounkles; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
John graduated from Munhall High School in 1959 and from the University of Pittsburgh in 1973 with a degree in Information Technology. He was a US Army Veteran (military police officer in Germany and Radar Technician New Mexico) and worked as a bank teller, computer programmer, Computer Systems Supervisor, Director of Computer Systems and VP of Software Development.
He loved traveling to visit his children and grandchildren and was an avid golfer and bowler. He will be fondly remembered for his competitive spirit and love of all sports. He was a servant leader and volunteered his time at St. Vincent DePaul and as a Eucharistic Minister and Sacristan at Espiritu Santo Church.
A catholic church service will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Espiritu Santo Church, 2405 Phillippe Pkwy, Safety Harbor, FL 34695.
