Elizabeth Q. Simmons

Elizabeth Q. Cromwell Simmons also known as Mama Liz, 90, of Clearwater entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday December 8, 2022. Her parents are the late Rev. Adam Cromwell and Mrs. Rachel McCray Cromwell. She was a longtime resident of Clearwater and an avid University of FL Gators and Philadelphia Phillies fan. Mama Liz was a charter member of the Church of the Reconciler and a current member of Faith United Church of Christ. She loved to bowl, play tennis, take pictures and was active in church and community service. Mama Liz was preceded in death by her husband of many years, LaVerne Ellis Simmons; daughter Ariminta M. Simmons-Pitts; grandsons Terrence J. Landsm and infant twins Julius and Julian Simmons. Survivors include a sister; Martha L. Price, Washington DC, sister-in-law; Norma Jean Cromwell, Alachua, FL, children; Janice of Tampa, Edward (Karla) of Dayton, OH, Michael of Flemington, Keith (Andrea) of Zebulon, NC, Veronica of Clearwater, Lavonice (Tony) of Memphis, TN, and Stacey (Hortensia) of Clearwater.

16 Grandchildren; Ericka of Orlando, Teffany (DeVaughan) of Lake Mary, Bryce (Dedri) of Vicksburg, MS, Justin of Atlanta, GA, Shantell of Dayton, OH, Jasmine of Clermont, Shira of Atlanta, GA, Natashia & Taleshia of Atlanta, GA and Dionne, Marissa, Shante (Zachery), Trumaine, Tyneshia, Destinee & Tatiana all of Clearwater.

25 Great-grandchildren; Tayveon, Dashawn, Terrence Jr, Teshira, Keyvone, Keyshod, TeOnshai, Jesiah, Jonah, Jason, Jada, Erynn, Jayden, Zachery, Zoe, Zora, Aaliayah, Nevaeh, Jace, Paiden, King, Kalani, Michael, William and Zameer.

A wake for Elizabeth will be held Friday, December 16, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater, FL 33759. A visitation will occur Saturday, December 17, 2022 from 1:30 to 2:00, followed by a funeral service starting at 2:00 pm. A graveside service will occur thereafter.
