95 of Clearwater died Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at her home. Elizabeth was born on July 25, 1917 in Miami, Missouri to Raymond Saufley & Elizabeth Anne (Hamner) Edmonds who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her older brothers, Augustus Hamner Edmonds also born on July 25th, and Wilson Palmore Edmonds. As a young girl Elizabeth sang in her church choir as did her mother and her mother’s twin sister. She attended junior college in Burlington, Iowa when she was 17 and graduated from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa (now the University of Northern Iowa).) Elizabeth began her teaching career in Independence, Iowa in Physical Education and Biology. She met and married her husband, Frank Daniel Klumpar and had a daughter, Konstance Anne. Frank preceded her in death in 1986. Betty, as she became known, attended the Methodist Church in Independence, Iowa and was a member of PEO. Throughout her life she was lovingly called by many names. Her family and early friends called her Sis, Sis Ann or Sister. After college she was known as Betty, Betty Ann and throughout her life she was called Liz and Liz Ann and in later years she was referred to as Elizabeth or Elizabeth Ann. Elizabeth moved to Clearwater, Florida in 1966 where she taught in Cottingham School for the winter. She began a second career by graduating with a degree in Medical Records from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. She served as a Medical Records Administrator for a number of years in Fort Meyers and Clearwater, Florida. One of her dreams was to go to Hawaii, which she did several times in the 1970s. In later years her hobbies included biking and dancing. She and her good friend, Dale, would go dancing three to five times a week. Her permanent move to Florida was in 1968 and she lived out the rest of her life here.
She is survived by her daughter, Konstance Anne McCaffree, PhD, who lives in Doylestown, PA.
