Donald Paul Russell, 82, passed away peacefully at his home on September 2, 2014 in the presence of his loving family. He was born April 4, 1932 in Chicago, IL, moved to Virginia in 1959, and later moved to Clearwater, FL in 1973. He retired from General Electric after 35 years of service and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Dunedin. Over the years, Don competed in Skeet Shooting, Archery and Sailing. Don had a passion for all things equestrian and was a member of the Sarasota Polo club for many years. In retirement, he was an avid tennis player, loved butterfly gardening, and spoiling his grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by parents John & Agnes Russell and brother W. Allen Russell. He is survived by his loving wife Sandra Russell of 54 yrs; his 3 children Brian (Tricia), Kathy Hudson (Scott), Scott (Christie); grandchildren Paul, Ryan, Kailey, Sydney, Remey; brother J. Ken Russell; sister-in-law Barbra Reames (Bill) and many close friends. A Celebration of Don’s life will be held Saturday Sept. 6, 2014 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church of Dunedin, 421 Main St, Dunedin, FL 34698.
