He was born January 24, 1924 in Fitchburg, Mass., the son of James Henry Osgood and Edith S. (Harrington) Osgood.
He married Jean B. Nichols on August 21, 1948 in Rindge, New Hampshire.
Donald was a machinist then went on to school to become a welder having worked for Crocker Burbank thru James River before retiring as a machine shop foreman in 1987. He taught First Aid for the Red Cross Chapter in Fitchburg, and was part of the First Ski Patrol formed in 1960 at Mt. Wachusett, Princeton, Mass. He was a member of the Aurora Lodge, Scottish Rite, Melha Shriner. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fitchburg and attended St. Paul United Methodist Church in Florida during the winter months here.
Donald enjoyed farming, boating, water skiing, snow skiing, playing horse shoes, golf, woodworking, motor cycling and helping his friends and others. He and Jean built their own home in the Spring of 1948 ready for their marriage later that year.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jean B. Osgood, his daughter, Kathy J. Gustafson, and a son Ted L. Osgood and his wife Debra, and five grandchildren, Sarah Gustafson, Ashley Gustafson, Scott Osgood, Dean Osgood and Kris Osgood.
Memorial services are pending at this time and will be announced by the Moss Feaster Funeral Home in Clearwater, Florida.
