Our mother, Peggy Ann Peters, passed away suddenly on February 8, 2022, at Penn Highlands Clearfield. She was born in Osceola Mills, Pennsylvania, on June 29, 1949, the daughter of Beatrice and Ted Peoples.
Peggy was a 1967 graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola High School. She and her husband raised her family, and then she worked at Clearfield Hospital for seventeen years.
Peggy loved to read, and spent many afternoons in the library. She did daily crossword puzzles. Her main interests in life were following her grandkids’ activities and staying close to her family.
Peggy found great joy in preparing for family gatherings. She made ordinary get togethers feel like special celebrations. She was the center of everything — no matter what time, day or night, she always had time to take calls from her children and grandchildren, and had just the right words. Her life was fully involved and interactive at all times.
Surviving are her husband, Don Peters, of Clearfield, whom she was married to for 53 years; and 3 children, Dawn Maltais and her husband Robert of Clearfield, Tim and his wife Jennifer of Dayton, Ohio, and Christine Chnupa and her husband Keith of Hillsborough, North Carolina.
Also surviving are her two brothers, Roger Scott and his wife Shirley, of Clearfield and Dennis and his wife Linda, of Ohio. She valued immeasurably her five grandchildren, Katelyn and Rebecca Maltais, Andrew Peters, and Jacob and Adam Chnupa; her helpful and caring niece, Jessica Peoples, and many other nieces and nephews who were very dear to her.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents.
Peggy attended the Hyde Wesleyan Church and per her wishes, memorial contributions can be made to the Hyde Wesleyan Church, 1215 Riverview Road, Clearfield, PA 16830.
Friends will be received on Friday, February 11 2022 from 11:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield.
