Marvin C. Sipe Sr.

He was born September 3, 1935 in Clearfield, the son of Lenn Thompson and Minnie Alma (Starr) Sipe.

Marvin was a graduate of Clearfield Area High School.

Mr. Sipe had worked for Hammermill in Clearfield and Erie and retired form HRI as a heavy equipment operator. He also owned Sipe Greenhouse in Clearfield.

He was affiliated with the Alliance Church.

Marvin is survived by his five children; Lou Ann Heberling of Clearfield, Susan Adam and her husband John of Allenwood, Christine Luzier of Curwensville, Melanie Leigey and her husband Christopher and Marvin Sipe, Jr., all of Clearfield, eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Sipe was the last member of his generation having been preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dolly M. (Merrow) Sipe whom he married February 14, 1953 and who passed away August 10, 2017, a daughter, Carol Sipe O’Dell, a granddaughter, Brooklyn Sipe Carns and five siblings; Betty Punchios, Duane, Bob and Raymond Sipe and Shirley Matthews.

Honoring Marvin’s wishes there will be no public visitation. Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family with Rev. Stephen D. Shields officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Joy Cemetery.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
