Born December 6, 1947 in Clearfield, the son of Walter L. and Helen (Lash) Olosky.
He had worked for Clearfield Cheese Co., Howes Leather, and retired from Mt. Savage, all of Curwensville.
James was a member of St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church, of Curwensville.
James was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam Era.
James enjoyed line dancing and classic muscle cars. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and target shooting and spent a great deal of time going for walks in the woods.
James is survived by two step children; Corrina A. Ricketts of Ranson, WV and Samuel J. Maney and his wife Chris of Curwensville, four grandchildren; Brian Ricketts (Tampa), Michelle Ricketts, Justin Maney (Jess) and Sierra Coutler (Josh), six great grandchildren; Brintin, Briley, Blaze, Ty, Blaydron and Elowyn, one great-great granddaughter, Carrigan, three brothers; John Olosky of Solon, OH, Walter Olosky of Clearfield and Tom Olosky of DuBois and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary M. (Moyer) Olosky whom he married June 5, 1976 and who passed away April 24, 2015, and a son-in-law, Dave Ricketts.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:30 AM on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Stephen Collins as Celebrant. Interment will be in Historic Crown Crest Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Clearfield Honor Guard.
The Rosary will be recited at 4:00 PM at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., of Clearfield on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, and friends will be received directly following from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
