Born on March 1, 1931 in Pottersdale, PA, she was the daughter of Glenn and Betrecca (Hoover) Lucas.
Marie graduated from Cooper Township High School, Lance, and continued her education at Clearfield Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1952 and received a Nursing Diploma. She worked for the Clearfield Hospital as a registered nurse for 14 years.
She attended the Goshen United Methodist Church.
On September 17, 1966, she wed C. Blaine Taylor in the Goshen United Methodist Church, Goshen, PA.
Marie was a member of the Clearfield Hospital Nurses Alumni, an organization she loved. She enjoyed taking walks, flowers, and especially her rose bushes. Marie enjoyed lighthouses, but not the water. She was very fond of animals and could find beauty in all things. She was very close to the Lord and will be remembered especially for always singing hymns around the house and placing scripture verses anywhere and everywhere.
Marie is survived by her children, Michael Cowder (Cindy), Goshen, Blaine Scott Taylor, Clearfield, Melanie Decker (Brett), Curwensville, Jeff Taylor, Goshen, Jeremy Taylor, Frenchville, Jon Taylor (Jennifer), Clearfield; eight grandchildren, Marissa Decker, Kevin Decker, Kaleb Taylor, Cody Taylor, Brittany English, Devon Donatelli, Taylor Clark; Kiaya Mccraken and six great-grandchildren, Tristan Clark, Carter Knepp, Aubree Knepp, Gannon English, Dominic Donatelli, and Nicholas Donatelli.
She is also survived by one brother, James Lucas, Falls Church, Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Donald B. Lucas and two sisters, Dorothy Elias and Betricca Peedin.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 2 at 12 noon in the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield with Chaplin Kathie Ann Pearcy officiating. Visitation will be held in the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Interment will be in the Goshen Cemetery, Goshen.
