Edward G. Hudson

Mr. Hudson was born February 26, 1947 in Clearfield, the son of Roper R. and Irene E. (Haversack) Hudson.

He retired from Clearfield Machine in May of 2011 after 38 years of service.

Mr. Hudson was affiliated with the Trinity United Methodist Church of Clearfield.

He was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam Era.

Mr. Hudson was a 50 year member of the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post No. 6

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and loved sports, especially the Clearfield Bison, Penn State Nittany Lions and Philadelphia Eagles.

Edward is survived by his wife, Jennifer L. (Miller) Hudson whom he married April 17, 1980, two daughters; Tiffany N. Irwin and Jessica L. Hudson-Szlasa and her husband Tim, all of Clearfield, four grandchildren; Kyler Edward Hudson, Laney E. and Kandyn J. Hudson and Caden A. Irwin, a brother, Richard S. Hudson and his wife Beverly of Treasure Lake, numerous nieces and nephews and his families-in-law; Bonnie Johnson and her husband Charlie and Carole Horm and her fiancé Larry Leigey all of Clearfield and Jay Richard “Rick” Miller and his wife Jean of Mechanicsburg.

Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Dr. C. Frederick Ralston officiating. Military Honors will be accorded at the church by the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post No. 6 and Veterans of Foreign Wars F. Michael Sicks Post No. 1785 Honor Guard. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 6 to 8:00 PM and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the hour of services.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 108R North 2nd Street, Suite 1 B, Clearfield, PA 16830.
