Mr. Powell was born April 21, 1936 in Clearfield, the son of Charles S. Powell and Nina (Moyer) Wheeler.
He had worked for Petrolec, The Progress and County National Bank.
Mr. Powell was a member of the Centre Grove United Methodist Church.
He was a life member of the Clearfield and Hyde Fire Companies, the Clearfield County Volunteer Fireman’s Association and the Central District Volunteer Fireman’s Association.
Ed is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Henchbarger) Powell whom he married March 11, 1960, two sons; Randy Powell and Steven A. Powell and his wife Dianne, all of Clearfield, six grandchildren, including Randall A. Powell and Seana Powell, seven great grandchildren, a sister, Margaret Coder, three half-sisters; Mary Alice Bannister, Creata Bloom and Jean Beam, three half-brothers; Dathan Swanson, Sam Powell and Ronnie Lee Powell, his mother-in-law, Marie Henchbarger and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Charlene Wisor, a brother, Donald Powell, half-sister, Rebecca Walk, son-in-law, Tom Wisor and father-in-law, Jess Henchbarger.
Funeral Services will be held on at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield with Rev. Robert Achey officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the hour of services.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
