William Ronnie "Ron" Earp

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Kay Smith Earp, of 49 years, his 2 sons; Will Earp and wife Karen, Sam Earp and wife Jennifer; 4 grandchildren Josh, Kenny, Hannah, and Katie; his sibling David Earp and wife Joy and son Colby and family.

He was preceded in death by his father, WB Earp, and mother Lucille Johnson Thomas.

Ron was a native of Clayton, graduated from Clayton High School and then attended Furman University on a full football scholarship. He spent much of his career in sales spanning form women’s lingerie to orthopedics to real estate. He was a true salesman at heart and never met a stranger. He enjoyed beach trips with his family and cooking steaks on the grill on Saturday nights. His heart was filled by spending time with his family and attending family reunions. He had a love for music and spent many years singing in the choir at First Baptist Church.

Ron’s memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 11:00am at First Baptist Church in Clayton at 411 N. Fayetteville Street Clayton, NC 27520. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ron's name may be made to the First Baptist Church of Clayton Organ Fund.
