Sharon Mary Gillespy

A memorial service to honor her life will be held 2:00 PM Friday, December 20, 2024 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton, North Carolina with Pastor David Sutphin officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home, prior to the service.

She was born in Saugerties, New York on March 12, 1954 to the late Wilbur Wynne and the late Rose Bulick Wynne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers Wilbur and Vernon Wynne.

Sharon had been brought up as a farmer’s daughter and worked in the accounting field for 35 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and loved caring for all animals, especially her horses.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Roy Gillespy; children, Jeffery Joesph Gillespy, Michael Roy Gillespy, wife Rhonda; grandchildren, Tyler Gillespy, wife Ashtyn, Kendall and Kamdyn; great grandchild, Hampton Gillespy; sister, Shelia Hommell, nephew Darren and niece Lisa.
