Brad was born in Louisville, Kentucky to Marshall and Dianne Tyson on August 4, 1979. He graduated from Clayton High School and attended Wake Technical Community College. A beloved son, brother, grandson and loyal friend, he found great joy in his work as an IT tech for more than 20 years. Brad was a member of First Baptist Church Smithfield.
The visitation will be 3PM, Saturday, August 24, 2019 at First Baptist Church Smithfield, Ryberg Hall, 202 South Fourth Street, Smithfield, NC 27577.
A private memorial service for the family will be held at 2PM, Saturday, August 24, 2019 at First Baptist Church Smithfield, with the Rev. Lee Colbert of First Baptist Church Smithfield, officiating.
Brad is survived by his parents, Marshall and Dianne Tyson of Clayton, his sister, Lauren King and her husband Rhett of Wilmington, NC, nephew Barrett King and niece Morgan King. He is also survived by two long-time significant others, Jamie Lobb and her daughter Alicia Ventura of Kansas City, KS, and Jennifer Joyner of Timberlake, NC. In addition, he is survived by his uncle Alfred Tyson and wife Donna of Nashville, NC and their family, aunt Sharon Stepp and her husband Mark of Greenville, NC and their family, aunt Renee Smith and her husband Edwin of Mauldin, SC and their family, and uncle Charles Blackwell of Marietta, SC and his family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Nellie Tyson of Rocky Mount, NC and Herbert and Carolyn Blackwell of Marietta, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Music Ministry of First Baptist Church Smithfield.
Brad’s family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to doctors, nurses and staff in the Medical ICU at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC for the special care he received while in the MICU.
