I am so sorry to hear of Mr Lamberts passing.  He was a great ROTC instructor and is one of the reasons that l decided to go into the military.  I am now a veteran and have learned a lot during my time of service.  Thank you Mr Lambert for being a man of honor, prayers  go up for the family.🙏🏾

I met Bob and Lillian about 30 years ago when I would come down from Maryland to visit my sister, their neighbor. Their kindness and lifelong friendship began the first time we met. Over the years we have shared many wonderful memories like doing a walkabout on their property to admire the variety of plants Bob had grown or animals they were raising, having meals at each other's homes or out somewhere local, and sharing the stories of our lives.
When I decided to move to NC, Bob knew I had a love for plants and gardening. He invited me to come to his property and take compost, cuttings, volunteer plants, and plants he had cultivated to get my garden started. Today I can't look out one single window of my house and not see a plant he had shared with me. My garden is a testament to his friendship, generosity, and his love for passing things down to the next generation. 
Two years before Bob's passing, he was concerned about what might happen to some of his Earth science specimens. As a fellow teacher, he asked if I could use them. I said of course, I teach a lot of Earth science in elementary school. 4th graders go absolutely crazy about touching, holding, and learning about rocks and minerals.They love when I bring out Bob's samples that are larger and more fascinating than  the ones provided for elementary school. Everytime I pull them out or use one as a talking piece for a morning meeting, I tell the students that I got that sample(s) from a dear friend who was a middle and high school teacher. Through the use of his samples, I have heard some students say, "I think I might like to be a geologist one day." 
Bob was a believer in sowing seeds of not only plants but of kindness, generosity, and knowledge. May we all strive to leave a powerful legacy of our own in our attempt to inspire and make this world a better place for all.



Ambrose, a small lamb that Bob and Don (the twins) bottle fed, was abandoned by its mother. The little lamb followed them everywhere… and became a household pet. Bob is in the picture with Ambrose, along with his father George.

Love and prayers going to his family. He was a wonderful man who was there for me at a time in my life when I needed someone (even though I wasn't one of his students).  He touched so many lives. He was a great man, teacher, mentor and role model. He will truly be missed but his legacy and memory will live on.

Few people have had more of an impact or more influence on my life than CMDR Larrick. Without him,  I would not be where I am today, my entire life was improved greatly by knowing him. I am thankful that he saw potential in me, guiding me to a better path. He was the main reason I joined the Navy and I am proud to call him Shipmate.  The world is a better place because him because of his guidance and mentorship. CMDR Larrick will be missed. Fair winds and following seas shipmate, we have the watch.

Great teacher, mentor, role model and all around person. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Commander Larrick was a major influence on me.  He was a great teacher, mentor, and leader. Many of my fondest memories from high school are thanks to him and the classroom environment he created.  Now a teacher myself, I hope to have just a portion of the impact Commander Larrick had on so many.  He was beloved and will be missed.  Fair winds and following seas, we have the watch. 

You were a great person and I learned a lot from you. Thank you for making me the "mascot". I enjoyed all the trips and treasure the stories you told. You will be missed! Love you!
