Richard was born September 3, 1947 to Elmer and Millie Hannon in Green Bay, WI. He graduated from Abbott Pennings High School in 1965.
Richard was the proud owner of Hobart Mobile Home Park in Green Bay. He began his career working alongside his father and brother at Northeastern Mobile Homes and remained in the industry until his retirement.
One of his favorite places was the family cottage on Kelly Lake where he spent his childhood summers, hit many deer, enjoyed cocktail cruises on the pontoon and late-night bonfires with family and friends. He was a lover of bowling, golf and vodka. Richard loved to fish anywhere, but his favorite places were at Kelly Lake and on his trips to Canada with his lifelong buddies, Dave, Gil, Dennis and Dick.
Richard was a proud stockholder and season ticket holder of the Green Bay Packers. He was lucky enough to attend the Ice Bowl in 1967 and cheered his team on to victory in all 4 Super Bowl wins.
He moved to North Carolina in 2013 into the Longleaf community where he found a new family of friends and the love of his life, Cheryl, with whom he spent his last years.
Richard is survived by his daughter, Tricia and husband, Jeff Hornbeck; son, Jon Hannon (Jennifer Holland); his sister, Kathy and husband, Steve Ryan; brother, Jim Hannon (Mary Vander Kelen); sister in law, Sue Fisher; aunt, Orpha Lucas; his love, Cheryl Madill; her son, Matt Madill; mother of his children, Becky and husband, Jim Spring; granddaughters, Katie and Emily Hornbeck; grandson, Tanner Hannon and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Mildred Hannon; his sister, Carol and husband, Jim, Fisher and brother-in-law, Tom Crooks.

The family of Richard wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Ramalingam and his staff at the Duke Cancer Center, Dr. Dorr & Dr. Nazir at Duke Raleigh Hospital and all the nurses who cared for him during his illness.
Richard Hannon’s family would like to invite you share in a celebration of his life at Monti Hall, next to Venero’s Restaurant located at 9963 U.S. Highway 70 W. in Clayton on Saturday, January 12th. Dinner will be offered from 6-9p.m.
