Lawren Alicia Watson was born on November 13, 1992 and she transitioned to her heavenly home on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh, NC surrounded by her family members after a valiant fight with cancer.
Lawren loved the Lord and accepted Christ in her life at an early age. She attended Truth and Light Ministries in Kinston, NC under the leadership of her grandfather Dr. Carl Hill Sr., founder and pastor. She participated in the youth choir and other activities at the church.
Lawren was a lifelong learner. She graduated from Garner High School in 2011 and continued her educational journey by enrolling in college at UNC Charlotte, where she graduated in 2015 with Degrees in Psychology and Sociology. Lawren had a great passion for doing hair. Seeking to enhance her skills, she enrolled in Sherill’s University of Barber and Cosmetology and became a Licensed Professional Cosmetologist.
Lawren was never without employment and held several jobs while on the path to securing her goals. No job was too menial. She was employed by McDonald’s, IKEA, Appletree Daycare, Salon Centric (Beauty Guru), and Renee Rexine Salon.
Lawren was a very talented hair stylist. She took advanced workshops to keep up with the latest styles and techniques and was recognized for her expertise. She loved to do make-up and paint. She spent her leisure time reading, writing, exercising and taking long walks. She especially enjoyed puzzles, shopping, dining out, and spending time with her family and friends.
Throughout her battle with cancer, she kept an optimistic attitude and a smile on her face. She touched the lives of many people!
Lawren was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Lonnie and Barbara Watson.
Lawren leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted mother, Mrs. Urika D. Hill-Myers(Sherman); her father, Mr. Lawrence Watson(Felecia); her grandparents, Bishop Carl Hill(Lou), Mrs. Gail Dove, Mr. Willie Williams(Helen), Mrs. Barbara Myers; her siblings, Quadir Hill, Renika Hill, Zareeya Watson, Xayden Watson, Keith Williams, Britni Bennett, Tre Bennett, and Joshua Bennett; her nephew, Zechariah Hill of the home; Special friends, Dominique Mathis, Lauren Jones, Jolisa Dynea; and a host of aunts and uncles, loving cousins, family members and friends.

A memorial service for Lawren will be held Sunday, July 21, 2024 at 1:00 PM at McLaurin Funeral Home Chapel, Clayton, NC. Following the memorial service will be a visitation at 2:00 PM with a meal. The family asks that those attending wear bright colors and avoid dark clothing per Lawren's wishes.
